Izadi claims the great rosés

10/04/2025

Curiosity is one of the four values that Bodegas Izadi carries in its DNA, and as a result, in recent years, it has created unique projects - from its singular vineyards to the elaborations with minority native varietals - that have positioned it in a very relevant place within Rioja. Now, with La Gran Rosa 2024, it has reached a new milestone.

In 2014, Bodegas Izadi, with its Larrosa Rosé wine, was a pioneer in the DOCa Rioja when it came to betting on a new style of rosé that, in the end, opened the way for this Provençal-style segment.

Larrosa Rosé was the beginning of a very exciting project based on the garnacha variety. After more than a decade of knowing and understanding this variety, Lalo Antón, CEO of the winery, believes that “it is time to face a new challenge and demand the best that garnacha can give us”.

Today La Gran Rosa is presented, a premium rosé of which only 1,280 bottles have been produced in magnum format, born from a co-fermentation of red and white garnacha from two very special vineyards and a slight aging in barrels with its lees.

The plots from which this wine comes from are those with which the history of Larrosa Rosé began in its first vintage, to which is added a very old vineyard of white garnacha planted in 1952.
