Something is happening at Finca Villacreces

23/04/2026

Following the presentation of the winery’s new image, some of the changes taking shape in the most exclusive area of Ribera del Duero are beginning to come to light.

Finca Villacreces is starting to unveil some of the new developments that will take place at the winery over the coming months, such as the latest edition of its well-known Pruno Day. On this occasion, it is Pruno, one of Ribera del Duero’s top-selling wines, that reveals what its label will look like from the 2023 vintage onwards.

Pruno 2023 comes mainly from Pinos Claros, a neighbouring estate to Finca Villacreces, organically farmed and characterised by brownish clay soils that provide firmness and a strong fruit-driven profile. In this 2023 vintage, where these qualities are clearly evident, the wine is presented with a new image that follows the line of previous vintages but is adapted to Villacreces’ new style: recognisable, direct, and clearly linked to its origin.

Thirteen years after Robert Parker named it Spain’s best value-for-money wine, Pruno now features a new look, with its signature red colour as a defining brand element. Today, the brand is present in more than 60 countries across the five continents.

Overall, in Ribera del Duero, the 2023 vintage was marked by the importance of foresight and flexibility in harvest timing to achieve a balance between ripeness and acidity. Specifically, at Finca Villacreces, wines from this vintage show great aromatic potential, structure, and complexity.
